EMOTIONAL DESIGN - WHY WE LOVE (OR HATE) EVERYDAY THINGS


At present, many things have been created and produced by a large number of designers. These things are used by people in their daily lives. However, not all things can be used by humans. This is due, these things become useful and not useful because of human emotions to evaluate the use of the various aspects of the matter. But human emotions are affecting three aspects, namely the internal aspect of the body, behaviour and reflective. Things were, and was said by Donald A. Norman in his book: Emotional Design - Why We Love (Or Hate) Everyday Things.
 
At the beginning of the story of this book, Donald started to examine or analyse the relationship, the impact and the ability to design and minds of the people. 
However, at the end, Tractinsky has changed to, affect and emotion. Why does he have said about affect and emotion? This is due, emotion is the worst part of human psychology explored. Human psychology is likely to affect their emotions on their actions in daily life. However, emotions are divided into two types of emotions, the positive emotions and negative emotions. At each emotion has its own benefits. As an example, when someone is having problems, they feel anxious, so they will be more focus on resolving the problem. However, using highly efficient positive emotions to find solutions and other alternatives. As a result, many difficulties can be resolved if the problem is big or small.

Also the effects of emotional brain processes that unlock the result in three levels, visceral level, the level of behaviour and reflection. 
At the visceral level is the process for making judgments and sending the appropriate signals to the muscles and other signals to the brain. At the behavioural level is the site of daily behaviour control process. On reflection, the reflection is part of the brain. Therefore, these three levels interact with each other and each other modulation with modulation.

The results prove that all the things you want to do with the effects of both cognitive and effective. 
Effective ability to change the way we think. In addition, it has a role in the design as well. First of all, a person who is relax and enjoy the good atmosphere, they will be more creative. They can allow themselves to deal with small problems. Secondly, those who are in immediate danger, they will become more focused in the work they do. For the designer route, the first stage is the creativity. This stage is very good for designers because criticism is not allowed at this stage. After that, the idea gained must be generated to the actual product. At present, the more feeling of design guidance and at the same time they are more focused and precise in what they do. Therefore, it is helping them to settle on time.

However, in a short time, it has several levels against each other. 
For example, if one is interested to do something it must go through three levels, visceral level. This stage to judge the appearance, but then have to go through the reflection. This level will respond by their experiences. Therefore it will show them to have some fighting to get what they want. Reflection is the most vulnerable to variability through culture, experience, education, and individual differences. Therefore, the better design in all levels.

The designer is able to design a good and useful technology. 
However, it still can not satisfy everyone. This is due, everyone has needs and requirements vary. We really do not know what is truly needed by someone.

The things or objects produced can create memories for people. 
For example, souvenirs and pictures of memories. With just see it, it will remind the memories and experiences on the day of an adult. However, the memories can make people to respond to common life experiences. Therefore, we can increase our self-esteem when considering the experience. However, not only those people who have their own personality, the product also has their own personality to attract users. However, to produce these products have a personality, it must have a segment brand, design, usability and marketing. When all that is in the product, consumers will know the personality of the product. When all three levels are used in product design, then, with the level on the product, it will attract users.

Besides the visceral design for products, products should be manufactured well and use good packaging design. 
This is due to people always want the products look good, making beautiful and perfect. Not just look only desirable, but the physical design also plays an important role to give the product seem more passionate and effective for human use. If designers follow these conditions, the resulting design will attract more users. In addition, people are only looking for products which have good function. They can compare one product with another product. In this case, designers need to do more detailed research and careful to make improvements or innovation about product. This is due, sometimes, consumers are flocking to new functions, although not all users like it. This represents all products have a variety of messages, the culture and use. In other cases, they have interests that vary widely between products, it is related to images and messages on products that are delivered to another person. For example, at any time we look at a woman's cover colour match or fit with the theme of dress clothes at the event. In addition, the prices also affect consumers' minds. This is due, if expensive, consumers will be difficult to buy, but if more expensive, consumers will be able to buy and have it. Therefore, at this stage, the designer must have a sensitivity to the environment, and marketing background.


In conclusion, the emotions, people and products have continuity with each other. This is due to significantly influence the emotions of human actions. While if the products are able to attract attention of people, people will buy it. Summary, all actions that are controlled by three aspects, namely, visceral, behavioural, and reflective. Therefore, people will love or hate something or matters related to their lives.
